When they hear that I have lost an enormous amount of weight in a very short amount of time, I almost always get a barrage of questions. There are so many that I can't answer them all, but here are the most important ones answered, now listen!
Question 1: Did you starve yourself? Is it how you lost so many pounds?
Haha - not at all. All my life I was overweight and I tried to starve myself a lot of times, but never had any real results. What I did to lose weight this time was a combination of getting the right nutrition with doing the right exercises.
Question 2: So you weren't even hungry?
I wasn't, but it's not because I was eating a lot. You can't believe how strong "what you eat" affects your hunger levels. For example, if you aren't getting the right nutrition you won't be able to stay full for a long time no matter how much you eat. It's simple, because if you aren't getting what your body needs, it doesn't matter how much stuff you eat that your body doesn't need. Your body still needs that - and no matter how much you eat, you'll still feel hungry because you are still craving that thing which you need!
Question 3: You must have exercised for hours a day!
No! This is one of the cornerstones of how I lost so much fat, so listen carefully. We have always been led to believe that long hours of cardio (aerobic exercises such as treadmills or stair climbers) are the key to lose fat, whereas the truth couldn't be further from the truth. Aerobic exercises make you lose some fat while you are exercising, but the moment you stop exercising your body starts trying to replace that lost fat, because your body will always try to adapt to "survival" situations.
What you need for fat loss is resistance training - yes, muscles. Muscles take a lot of energy to build from scratch, and they are built while you are resting. That is how a 15-minute intense exercise burned me fat for days on end.
